This is a structured, supportive,: participatory 1-2-1 course suitable for beginners and includes an individual assessment to tailor the course to your needs. Conducted over 8 weeks with sessions lasting 90 minutes this course combines the key features of the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). It has unique features, or as Nick Cooke who developed the program notes ”added magic”. You will have an individual assessment, receive bespoke audio recordings to help with your formal practice between sessions, ongoing support after the course and the ‘gift day’ a day giving time to yourself engaging in mindful activities.
Using various meditation practices including seated meditation, body scan meditation, mindful eating or raisin meditation and simple mindful movements we learn to integrate these formal practices into our daily lives. We learn about reflecting and enquiry, journaling and self compassion as well as learning to be still. Between sessions the daily homework plan helps develop your personal practice and participants are asked to make a commitment to this.
